From August 20 to 22, the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) was held in Yokohama, Minato-Mirai district. At the Pacifico Yokohama venue, the "TICAD Business Expo & Conference" was held in conjunction with the main conference. In addition to Japanese companies showcasing their technologies, the "Africa Lounge" featured booths from various African countries, presenting their industries and business opportunities.
Staff member Kesete from FGC supported the operation of the Eritrea booth at the request of the Eritrean Embassy. During the three-day event, visitors had the opportunity to learn about Eritrean culture and attractions, and many meaningful interactions took place. Following a recent outreach class at an elementary school, we are grateful for the opportunity provided by the Eritrean Embassy to engage with the public once again. Through such activities, we are pleased to help more people learn about Eritrea and Africa as a whole.
FGC will continue to serve as a bridge between Africa and Japan through education and cultural exchange initiatives.
