As part of a continuing program organised by the Embassy of Eritrea in Tokyo, "International Understanding Education" class was held again this year on June 25 at Shirokane Elementary School in Minato Ward. Shirokane Elementary School is located near the Eritrean Embassy, and once again the school reached out to request a class. In response, Kesete Habtetsion Berhane, an Eritrean staff member of FGC, served as the instructor.
This year, 115 third-grade students from four classes participated. While the class was held in the library last year, the increased number of students this year called for a larger venue, and the session took place in the school gymnasium. On the day of the event, the principal of Shirokane Elementary School, homeroom teachers, and international exchange staff from the Minato Ward Office also came to observe the class. During the class, Kesete introduced the culture and daily life of Eritrea. The children listened with great curiosity and enthusiasm, and the class was held in a warm and engaging atmosphere, concluding with great success.
We are truly grateful for the opportunity to offer this kind of international exchange and education. We hope to continue sharing opportunities like this so that more people can learn about Eritrea.
