Dr. Tenzin Dorji, who founded "Project Mountain Dentist" (PMD) in Bhutan to provide dental care to people in mountainous areas, completed the 42.195 km Tokyo Marathon 2025 as a charity runner with the support of FGC. He has previously participated in the Berlin and London marathons, and this time he also made a donation to the areas affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake through the Tokyo Marathon.

"I want to expand the circle of support through running," says Dr. Tenzin, who continues to work with PMD with support both in Bhutan and abroad. PMD uses the latest portable equipment to provide dental care in underserved areas. They are particularly focused on providing medical care to areas far from dental clinics, people with physical disabilities, and tsams (monks and nuns) who are restricted from going out for religious reasons. They are also actively involved in promoting oral hygiene education. "Marathons teach me the importance of perseverance and challenges. There are many similarities with dental care work in mountainous areas."

In the future, with the cooperation of the Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC), he aims to hold a "Dental Hygiene & Running Clinic" for Bhutanese children, spreading awareness of the importance of dental health and exercise among young people.
