Mr. Dejen, an Eritrean student who is a member of the SEISA University Track and Field Club, safely returned to Japan after completing about three months of training in his home country of Eritrea.

It had been almost two and a half years since he had returned home, and he was very happy to see his family, friends, and coaches again after a long absence.

On the other hand, the training camp was both rigorous and enjoyable, with daily grueling practice in the capital Asmara, located at an altitude of approximately 2,300 meters above sea level.

With only one year left until graduation, we would like him to keep running toward his own dreams and goals.

We received a comment from him regarding the training camp as follows.

“Thanks to the Foundation for Global Children and SEISA University, I was very happy to be able to return home after a long time. It was my first time back home in two and a half years and I had a good practice thanks to my teammates. Also, my teammates threw me a party before I went back to Japan, which was a lot of fun. Since the weather and scenery was so nice that I was able to focus on my training. I will do my best to achieve good results in order to join a Japanese company team.”
