Six sports scholarship students attending SEISA Kokusai High School Shonan spent their first summer holiday in Japan. They focus on their sports training and studies and also participated in two international exchange events.

Mr. Nazrawi and Mr. Esey from Eritrea, who major in men’s basketball, participated in “Mori Building KIDS’ WORKSHOP 2022 – What we can do for the future - Draw a picture of happiness and talk with friends from seven countries around the world!” on August 14th, 2022.

At the event, children from various backgrounds such as China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Mexico, the U.S., Canada, and Eritrea gathered. They brought drawings expressing “things that make me happy” and gave presentations to the students from other countries about the background and thoughts behind them and also exchanged their opinions. Mr. Esey and Mr. Nazrawi expressed their ‘happiness’ with their drawings titled “Mom” and “Peace”.

Ms. Ariam, Ms. Sebah, Mr. Senay, and Mr. Biniam from Eritrea, who major in track & field, participated in a special class” SEISA Style Social Contribution from Teenagers” at SEISA Kokusai High School Tachikawa on August 18th, 2022. In the class, Japanese and Eritrean students asked each other questions and deepened their understanding of Japan and Eritrea. Mr. Daimon and Mr. Natnael, students at SEISA Dohto University in Hokkaido, who were visiting Oiso during their summer holiday, also joined the class and acted as interpreters for the new international students.
