Three Myanmar students from SEISA Kokusai High School Shonan's karate club took part in the first "Karate Family Demonstration" held by the All Japan Karatedo Federation (JKF) on December 19th.

The event is open to anyone, including parents, children, colleagues and friends, so they teamed up with female students from Hiratsuka Technical High School's karate club, with whom they train together once a week, and performed a team kata in the "Gachi Division Real".

The result was 4th place out of 22 teams. It was a great experience for them as they practiced hard to win the prize with their friends in Japan and they were able to try team kata for the first time since they came to Japan. Ms. Rika USAMI, who is active on the world's front line and is an ambassador of this event, praised the kata performed by the Myanmar students, which was a great inspiration for them.

The purpose of the Family Demonstration is to strengthen the bonds between families (the definition of family is different for each team), to have fun, and to promote the sport of karate.

A video of the day's events is available on the AKF website, and can be viewed by clicking on the link below.
