SEISA Africa Asia Bridge (commonly known as SAAB ) will be held again this year. This year's event will be also the largest online learning festival ever held by SEISA, connecting 40 locations in the US, Myanmar, Bangladesh and all over Japan.
Under the theme of "Chikei" (To Know, To Connect), last year's event was both online settings and the communities providing an opportunity for over 55,000 people in Japan and abroad to learn and deepen the relationships.
This year's event will again be held online, connecting countries around the world with Japan. The presentations and relevant activities by SEISA Junior & Senior High School Students on UN SDGs. A talk shows with top athletes along with the variety topics will be presented. In addition, the more international exchange programs will be held between Myanmar and Japan to deepen learning and relationships.
With the aim of realizing a "KYOSEI Society" as stated by SEISA, we hope that SAAB will provide a stepping stone for us to think about the meaning of "KYOSEI", sustainable society and peace, and what we can do to help. We also hope that this initiative will be sustained and become a seed of action for the next generation.
Furthermore, the SEISA Africa Asia Bridge has been selected as a national nominee for the 2021 UNESCO/Japan ESD Award.
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is about equipping learners with the necessary knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to enable them to act responsibly, respecting cultural diversity, for the protection of the environment, economic sustainability, a fair society for all genders, and for present and future generations. This is a key part of realizing all the SDGs.
