On November 4th, Track and Field club of SEISA Kokusai Shonan participated at the 71st annual of Kanagawa Prefecture High School Ekiden Tournament in Tanzawa Lake, Yamakita-machi, Ashigarakami-gun. This Ekiden Tournament has 7 sections of total 42.195km by circling around Tanzawa Lake. In the 1st section, Seisa Kokusai Shonan was drastically behind at the 53th rank of all the 64 teams. In the 3rd section, Dejen, an international student from Eritrea, run very well by passing 38 runners to push up the rank to 15th. As well as receiving the sectional award, he renewed the sectional record at 24:34:00 by 33 seconds faster than the previous record. “I enjoyed the race running together with my team mate. I am very happy to renew the record. My next goal is to renew my personal record at 5,000m and 10,000m”, says Dejen. Seisa Kokusai Shonan finished the race at the 20th rank, concluding the first participation at the Ekiden Tournament with satisfactory result. The team and we appreciate all your support.
