On October 30th and 31st, we held concerts of The Brussels String Quartet in Obihiro and Sapporo, Hokkaido, as a charity activity for The Great East Japan Earthquake. We had nearly 300 audiences at each venue. The quartet played the music of Mozart, Schumann, Ravel as well as a Japanese song “Hamabe no Uta (Song of The Beach)”. Their performances are truly beautiful.
These concerts aimed at supporting our “Let’s Go to Northern Land” project. In this project we invite the children of Soma city, Fukushima, who have been affected by the nuclear accident in the Great East Japan Earthquake, to visit Hokkaido and experience the various activities in the great nature. We conducted the fund-raising activities in both venues and received the donation of 400,515 yen in total.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who supported the charity concerts and “Let’s Go to Northan Land” project. Thank you very much.
